Learning UnBoxed
Learning Unboxed is a Secondary 2 milestone programme that empowers students to take ownership of their learning through self-directed exploration. Students have the opportunity to learn a new skill, develop a talent, or deepen their capability in a field or interest of their choosing.
Designed to move beyond conventional academic boundaries, Learning Unboxed encourages students to chart their own learning pathways. The programme also integrates service and community contribution with learning by challenging students to be intentional in designing their learning such that they can apply the knowledge and skills they have acquired in service to the community.
At the heart of Learning Unboxed is student agency. Students get to decide what they want to learn, how they want to learn it, and how they will use their learning to serve the community. This kindles in our students a sense of purpose and as they initiate and direct their own learning towards making a positive impact on those around them.
By allowing students a safe space for exploration, experimentation, and even failure, Learning Unboxed helps our girls develop the lifelong competencies of Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, Citizenship, Critical thinking, and Character.
In giving every Secondary 2 MGS student her own voice and choice to design her own learning and use what she has learnt to serve the community, the Learning Unboxed experience brings the school’s motto, To Master, To Grow, To Serve, to life.
