Values in Action

Values in Action (VIA) in MGS is a key platform through which the school’s purpose anchor, MGServes, comes to life. Rooted in the belief that education extends beyond the classroom, VIA nurtures students to be good citizens who are conscious of their responsibilities to their community and country. Through meaningful opportunities to serve, relate and work with people beyond the school context, students learn not only about the needs of the community, but also with and from those they encounter.

As students engage in VIA projects and initiatives, they learn to assess societal needs, empathise with others, and build a sustained commitment to serve and lead. By helping students recognise how their actions can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others, VIA imbues them with a strong sense of purpose and encourages them to look beyond themselves, fostering a deeper connection and compassion for the wider Singapore community. In doing so, MGS seeks not only to shape character and citizenship, but also to contribute purposefully to society at large.
